🦐 VNF JOINS PILOT SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY SHRIMP FARMING PROJECT IN CÀ MAU

🌱 Pioneering a green – circular – low-emission shrimp industry
VNF is proud to be one of the selected enterprises participating in Ca Mau Province’s key Science & Technology project (2025–2026), aiming to scale the RAS-IMTA circular shrimp farming model. This system features low water exchange, high biosecurity, and meets international export standards.
🎯 The project launches with a pilot phase of 100 hectares, with an ambition to expand to 1,000 hectares. It is led by De Heus Vietnam, in collaboration with SAEN, Tập Đoàn Việt Úc, Thảo Nguyên, VNF, and local shrimp farmers in Cà Mau.
♻ VNF’s Strategic Role in the Circular Value Chain:
🔁 Shrimp shell recovery – Discarded shrimp shells are a growing environmental concern and pose biosecurity risks.
🔁 Value-adding to shrimp shells – By converting them into bio-products through a green – clean – zero-waste production model.
🔄 Building a circular economy model for Vietnam’s shrimp sector – The biological solutions derived from shrimp shells are recycled back into the industry to reduce farming costs and increase efficiency, including:
🧬 Shrimp peptides: Provide Di-/Tri-peptides and amino acids, enhancing feeding attractability and growth.
🛡️ Chitosan: Support molting, offer antibacterial effects, and boost immunity.
✨ Astaxanthin: Act as an antioxidant and enhance shrimp pigmentation.
🦠 Probiotics: Improve microbial ecology and water quality in ponds.
💡 From a mere “by-product”, shrimp shells are reborn as a vital link in a sustainable ecosystem.
This project is not only a scientific breakthrough, but also a model of a circular aquaculture economy – adapting to climate change, aiming for low emissions and long-term development.
🌍 VNF remains committed to continuous innovation, partnering with Vietnam’s shrimp industry on its green and sustainable transformation journey.
