🌱 Horticulture (crops) is the “late-born” brainchild of the VNF family. Officially established in 09/2022, VNF has since achieved significant milestones:
– Over 60 trials conducted
– Nearly 30 different crops, including grains 🌾, fruits 🍌, vegetables 🥬, industrial plants 🌳, etc.
– More than 50 partners 🤝 interested and supportive
🎯 Marking its 2nd anniversary with tremendous efforts, VNF held its first on-field seminar on horticulture in Krong Nang – Đak Lak on August 30th, 2024. The seminar, part of the Improving Private Sector Competitiveness (IPSC) project, saw participation from ~70 leaders from different government bodies, partners and local durian & vegetable farmers.
📢 Speaking at the seminar, farmer representative Mr. Dinh Thanh Tuan shared: “I’ve been growing and taking care of durians for over 10 years, but this is the first time I’ve seen a durian orchard utilizing a shrimp-based ingredients process. The trial orchard is very healthy, with long shoots and large, thick leaves, and very few pests.”
📢 Additionally, Mr. Vo Hoang Tan, Director of Saty Group, concluded that VNF’s solution works excellently with agricultural drones, proving successful on rice, coffee, sugarcane, pineapple, and chrysanthemums. As a result, 70% of Saty Group’s agricultural materials now come from VNF. This solution package not only benefits crops (over 90% absorption) and saves water but also supports environmental protection and public health. These points were also echoed by Mr. Giang Thanh Hai, Head of Technical Department, 52 Coffee Company.
📢 At the end of the seminar, Ms. Trinh Thi Huong, Deputy Director of the Enterprise Development Department under the Ministry of Planning and Investment, shared:
– The value-added solutions from by-products for sustainable horticulture not only tackles environmental issues of inputs (shrimp heads & shells) but also addresses output challenges (sustainable technical barriers);
– These solutions truly help farmers increase profits, which is also the key focus of the seminar;
– Entirely developed and produced by Vietnamese, these solutions/ products showcase national pride and ingenuity.
🏆 VNF extends its sincere gratitude for the support of Ms. Trinh Thi Hương (Trinh Huong), Mr. Do Van Chung from WASI, Mr. Truong Kien Giang (Kiến Giang), Saty Group (SATY), 52 Coffee Company, Krong Buk Rubber Company, and all the leaders of departments, institutes, universities, partners, and especially the farmers supporting and believeing in us throughout the past two years.
