CHITIN
Chitin (C8H13O5N)n is the second most abundant natural biopolymer in the world (after Cellulose), and is derived from the exoskeletons of crustaceans and insects
It is estimated that over 1 billion tons of chitin are synthesized each year by organisms. Chitin can form solid structures on its own, such as shrimp shells and insect wings, or combine with other components to create stronger substances.
FEATURES & APPLICATIONS
As a durable and semi-transparent polysaccharide, Chitin is mostly used to produce higher value derivatives including Chitosan and Glucosamine. However, Chitin can also be applied directly to agriculture as a natural fertilizer to boost plant growth.
GLUCOSAMINE
Supplement taken to improve joint health and build cartilage
CHITOSAN
Derivative of Chitin, with unlimited application potential
AGRICULTURE
Improve crop growth and stimulate beneficial microorganisms in soil
